  • Politics or penny pinching?

In January the government sent a terminally ill Ghanaian back to her country because her visa had expired. Yesterday in the European Court of Human Rights it was agreed that a Ugandan woman with HIV be sent back to Uganda as the drugs available in this country were available there also.

A NHS hospital bed costs an average £250 a day.

In 2003 a Government panel estimated the cost of providing treatment and preventing onward transmission for the 899 asylum seekers suffering HIV would be between £500 Million and £1 Billion in a life time.

This is a piss in the ocean when you consider the government is paying out £80 million a day just to have a presence in Iraq.

  • Who says the police can't be helpful

    fun, funny, humour

  • Sir Terry, I applaud you

Sir Terry Wogan is reported as saying that he may step down from the farce that is called The Eurovision Songcontest. In a year where we learn that Cliff Richard was done out of winning by General Franco we see one of the best UK entries in years reduced to last place.

Since the voting switched from a studio panel to a money grabbing phone-in we have seen the program, often seen as a joke, reduced to a total sham. The question has to be asked does the BBC have to waste license payers monies to finance this night of torture?

Sir Terry is reported as saying

"this is no longer a music contest,
Russia were going to be the political winners from the beginning."

    He told viewers:

"I think it's tremendously disappointing from the point of view of the United Kingdom.
Andy Abraham gave, I think, the performance of his life with a song that certainly deserved far more points than it got when you look at the points that Spain got, that Bosnia-Herzegovina got - some really ridiculous songs."

BBC please take note, stop wasting our money......
